Wang Jinghui, a sophomore from Taipei Municipal University of Education, won the men's road race.

This was the third time the young man from Taiwan had participated in the event, and he modestly attributed his excellent performance to the good weather.

"The road race is very competitive and full of changes. Last year, I braved the rain to race and finally came thirteenth. It is a good day today and that might be part of the reason why I could win," said Wang.

Lin Youqi, a 13-year-old from Taiwan, was the youngest participant in the race. It was also his first visit to the mainland.

"I felt very nervous at the beginning, but I still finished the 72-kilometer race," said Lin.
