Pingtan will host a cross-Straits fluorescent night run for a first time this Saturday, Oct 15.

The route is placed at the most scenic quarter of Pingtan along the east coast of the Haitan Island, the largest of the city's islands. A national forest park, the Longfengtou Beach and the Sand Sculpture Park are located at close range from the route.

The start and finishing point is set at the Haiyu Square and the half-way point will be at Yanxia bus stop.

The fun race is expected to lure 2,500 to 3,000 participants and double up as a musical event.

Thirty lucky ones were selected from the followers of the Pingtan government's WeChat account to enjoy free entrance to the music light run, which will cost 98 yuan to enter.

The starting gun will fire at 6:00 pm. Participants can enter the site at 3:00 pm and the music performances will start half an hour later.
