The Pingtan Comprehensive Pilot Zone (PCPZ), Fujian province, has hosted an award ceremony to honor model young people on May 4, in celebration of the Youth Day, ptnet.cn reported.

Youth Day, an annual event, is to honor the spirit and determination of China's younger generations.

A total of ten advanced collectives and 131 model young workers received awards at the ceremony.

Six model workers were also invited to share their experiences, encouraging local youth to learn from them.

Lin Jiangling, deputy director of PCPZ's administrative committee, also attended the ceremony and said that Pingtan's development needs the help of youth.

Lin hoped that young people will work and study hard as well as pursue innovation, so as to make more contributions to their hometown.
