A temporary bus terminal in Beicuo town, Pingtan, Fujian province was put into use on April 27, to bring more convenience to residents living nearby, ptnet.cn reported.

Covering an area of nearly 1,500 square meters, the temporary terminal is aimed at relieving the heavy pressure on passenger transport of the old bus station because of the increase of passengers. The new bus terminal is still under construction.

Now, three routes to the city of Fuzhou are available at the terminal. And more to cities of Sanming, Xiamen and Quanzhou will be planned to fulfill the needs of passengers, said Yang Xiaoming, a local transport official.

The temporary terminal also houses better facilities than the old one. For instance, it has seven check-in counters and two ticket vending machines.
