Customs authorities in Pingtan, Fujian province have enacted measures to facilitate customs procedures, local news portal ptnet.cn reported.

The moves have been approved by the country’s top customs authority to promote foreign trade and the local economy by improving work efficiency.

Under the new rules, Pingtan cut several service fees on exports and imports, including for data recording and changing and electronic inquiry.

To guarantee implementation, Pingtan Customs will also bring in a social intermediary organ to assist and supervise work, said Wu Zhenghuai, an employee at Pingtan Customs.

Pingtan will also set up a pilot mechanism to publicize customs regulations and laws and improve company management, he added.
