A delegation from the Fujian Development and Reform Commission and the Fujian Major Project Administration Office visited the Pingtan Comprehensive Pilot Zone (PCPZ) on Nov 3 to investigate its development.

The delegates, led by Yu Kaiyang, deputy director of the Fujian Development and Reform Commission, toured many of Pingtan’s important engineering projects under construction, such as the Jidiao Wharf, Pingtan Rail-Road Bridge and Pingtan Softball Area.

Li Dejin, director of PCPZ’s administrative committee, briefed the guests on Pingtan’s blueprint and sought more incentives from the provincial authorities to boost Pingtan’s economy.

Pingtan is in a key phase of a full-scale development, where energy guarantees play a vital role. So it hopes the provincial authorities can provide more support in the layout of energy programs, said Li.

He also suggested that the authority include Pingtan’s ecological preservation as one of the province’s major projects, following Chinese President Xi Jinping’s expressed sentiments for environmental protection when he inspected Pingtan earlier this month.

Pingtan has witnessed drastic changes since the establishment of the PCPZ in 2009, which is encouraging; and the Fujian provincial Government has always been paying attention to its development, said Yu Kaiyang.
