SEF chairman pays first visit to Pingtan

Lin Join-sane, chairman of the Straits Exchange Foundation (SEF), exchanges presents with Li Dejin, secretary of the Party working committee of Pingtan, Fujian province.

Lin Join-sane, chairman of the Straits Exchange Foundation (SEF), paid his first visit to Pingtan on Nov 6 and met with Li Dejin, secretary of the Party working committee of Pingtan, Fujian province.

"Pingtan has huge potential and is developing rapidly," said Lin. "Pingtan has several special development policies and has the same desire as Taiwan in promoting cross-Straits communication. We will try our best to promote cross-Straits development." More Taiwan companies and more talented people were encouraged to come to Pingtan, according to him.

Li also extended his welcome. "Chinese President Xi Jinping just finished his investigation in Pingtan. SEF’s visit will further strengthen cooperation between Pingtan and Taiwan," said Li.

Pingtan has achieved a lot in improving infrastructure, environment and people's livelihood. The cross-Straits communication channel has been built. The SEF was encouraged to promote Pingtan’s development, according to Li.
