Dongfeng village in Pingtan, along with four others of its peers in Fujian, made the list into the 100-episode documentary titled “Remember the Nostalgia”.

“Nostalgia is an abstract concept, which is reflected by everyday life of local folks,” said Gao Dawei, producer of the documentary.

The reporter learned about customs and culture, especially the preserved traditional fishing methods in the village, all of which are essential elements to be recorded and showcased, according to Gao.

“For example, the fishermen set out to sea to fish. They dry the fish and mix it with rice for meals. Those scenes are the components of nostalgia and the best way to pass it on,” he said.

The crew, after making a detaild recce, will start an eight-day filming on Oct 15, he said.

The documentary will be aired over multiple channels on CCTV and some local satellite TV channels.
