The Pingtan Comprehensive Pilot Zone has a bullish outlook for the 18th China International Fair for Investment and Trade (CIFIT), expecting to take in more than 1.6 billion yuan ($260 million) in investment.

CIFIT is currently China's only international investment promotion event aimed at facilitating bilateral investment. It's also the largest global investment event approved by the Union of International Fairs (UFI). The 18th CIFIT will last from Sept 8 to 11 in Xiamen city, Fujian province.

Pingtan will send an independent delegation to participate in the fair where it will advocate its preferential policies, industrial blueprint and investment climate, according to the local economic development bureau.

Seven overseas-funded projects in Pingtan are expected to sign investment contracts amounting to 1.6 billion yuan, the bureau said.

The seven projects are the (South China) headquarters of Delta Group, a Bionime blood-glucose mete production base, a tourism complex project by Fuhua Group and so on.

The Pingtan delegation will also open an exhibition zone at the Xiamen International Conference and Exhibition Center, which is the main venue for the 18th CIFIT, and promote new-generation communication technology, service trade, environmentally-friendly industries, the marine industry and new energy industry.

In addition, the delegation will hold face-to-face negotiations with potential investors and invite them to make a field inspection of Pingtan.
