The customs checkpoint is near Haixia Bridge, which is the only overland entrance to Pingtan Island. The first-stage construction of the checkpoint was finished in mid-April, and the debugging has been ongoing since April 21.

The information management system is a pivotal part of an integrated customs system and is the premise of PCPZ’s comprehensive customs operations.

About 67 staffers from customs organs and the design company are working on the debugging. They also trained newcomers on the system, said Yu Jianmin, deputy director of the Pingtan branch of Fuzhou Customs.

The team has run debugging on 525 data nodes and proposed improving 107 business items as of May 6.

“It's been more than two weeks. But it takes time to finish testing 522 business items. We must make sure there will be no problems after the closure of Pingtan,” Yu said.
