The organizers of the Pingtan World Culture Month, part of the 2013 Cross-Straits Beach Culture Festival held from June to October in Fujian's Pingtan Comprehensive Pilot Zone, said the event will take place from June 17 to July 16, and will include various cultural events from both China and around the world.

The local culture and sports administration bureau also said that the performances will include samba from Brazil, hula dancing from Hawaii and belly dancing.

Visitors will also be able to enjoy traditional Chinese fork arts, such as face-changing opera from China's Sichuan province, song and dance from northeast China, and Shaanxi's shadow play.

Meanwhile, auditions for the Miss Tourism International contest will be held parallel to the cultural performances.
