A hotline to sign up for tickets to the opening ceremony of the Kiteboard Tour Asia (KTA) on May 9 has been bombarded by Pingtan residents since Tuesday morning, May 7, Pingtan Times reported in Fujian's Pingtan county, host of this year's KTA event.

"I always work indoors in the factory. Now I've got a chance to see kiteboarding," said Nian Xiaobin, a local shipbuilder who called in to sign up for seats for him and his workmates.

The KTA tour will be held in Pingtan from May 9 to 13, with 120 players from 30 countries and regions participating in the five-day event.

"It is such a rare opportunity for Pingtan to host a kiteboard event. We can't miss it," said Lin Jian, another caller.

For those who want to attend the opening ceremony, call 0591-24110110 before 6:00 pm Wednesday, May 8, for tickets.
