The 2017 National Vocational Students Skills Competition kicked off in Pingtan, Fujian province on May 17.

As one of the 20 host cities across China, Pingtan has undertaken the contest of information security management and evaluation.

A total of 270 cross-straits vocational school students took part in the event, including three students from Taiwan China University of Technology.

"It is our first time to participate in a vocational skills competition, since there is nothing similar in Taiwan," said Chen Xinhong, leading teacher of the Taiwan team, adding that he hoped to take advantage of the competition and discover cutting-edge technology and advanced teaching methods from the mainland.
