Located to the west of Haitan Island and 1.4 kilometers from Kan'ao village in Su'ao town, Shipaiyang is one of the most marvelous natural wonders in Pingtan, Fujian province.

It is composed of two gigantic granite rocks of different heights standing facing each other. The higher one is 33 meters tall, while the lower one is 17 meters tall. They stand gloriously in the midstream, just like two pillars holding up the sky. They are picked up by a reef plate at the bottom, like a ship hoisting its sail. In the morning fog or glow of a sunset, the sea glows with wave light, while the two stones look like two large ships cruising with hoisted sails.

Travelers are often struck by the sight of the rocks, but currently no one is allowed to set foot on the island where the rocks stand, in a bid to protect them from damage. Nevertheless, visitors can still immerse themselves in the magnificent scene even looking at the rocks from a distance.
