Pingtan attracts global investors at the 19th CIFIT

Pingtan Comprehensive Pilot Zone in East China's Fujian province sought out cooperation opportunities with global investors at the 19th China International Fair for Investment and Trade (CIFIT) held in Xiamen from Sept 8 to 11.

A delegation headed by Zhang Zhaomin, Party chief of Pingtan Comprehensive Pilot Zone met with Andrew Robb, former Australian Trade Minister on the opening day.

Zhang said that as an opening window to Taiwan, Pingtan boasts prominent geographical and policy advantages and is scheduled to build itself into an international tourism island in the years to come. He welcomed Robb to visit Pingtan to seek out cooperation opportunities.

Robb said Fujian has established a very strong relationship with Australia, and hoped both sides could make further exchanges.

On the same day, Zhang also met with Ghazi Abu Nahl, president of the World Trade Centers Association where he spoke of the county's latest developments.

Ghazi Abu Nahl, who last visited Pingtan in 2014, said he was impressed with Pingtan's development in the fields of tourism, leisure and entertainment.

Prior to the meeting, Ghazi Abu Nahl was interviewed by local media, saying that in addition to geographical advantages, Pingtan boasts a beautiful scenic coastline and an agreeable climate which has extraordinary appeal to global investors.

Figures are yet to be released on the extent of investment Pingtan managed to attract over the four-day event.
