The tourism sector of the Pingtan Comprehensive Pilot Zone (PCPZ), Fujian province, is very attractive, according to Andrew Robb, former Australian minister for trade and investment. Robb was being interviewed on Sept 9, the second day of the 19th China International Fair for Investment and Trade held in Xiamen.

The remark was a result of a meeting between him and Lin Wenyao, director of the PCPZ's administrative committee, a day earlier. The meeting enabled Robb to gain a better understanding of Pingtan.

The former minister said that Pingtan's tourism, healthcare and education industries are complementary to those of Australia. Robb also said many Australia companies are willing to invest in those industries in Pingtan.
