The Electronic China Inspection and Quarantine system (E-CIQ), was launched on the official website of Pingtan Entry-Exit Inspection and Quarantine Bureau on July 28, marking a new era for quality testing on imported goods in Pingtan Comprehensive Pilot Zone.

Import and export enterprises can now directly make inspection and quarantine reports to customs electronically, saving time and increasing efficiency.

The new system is able to check different aspects of quarantine and inspection against an online database of information, as well as draw from the data of a further 39 external systems.

The E-CIQ provides wins on both sides, as the Pingtan Entry-Exit Inspection and Quarantine Bureau is able to increase its efficiency and enterprises are able to speed-up their goods in customs and reduce costs.

The launch of the new system in Pingtan follows similar roll-outs across Jiangsu province, Inner Mongolia, Liaoning province, Jilin province, Heilongjiang province, Xiamen, and Fujian province.
