The chairperson of the Bank of Taiwan, Lee Jih-Chu, visited the Pingtan Comprehensive Pilot Zone (PCPZ), Fujian province on June 5 to discuss cross-Straits financial cooperation with Pingtan leaders.

Xu Weize, director of PCPZ's administrative committee, met with Lee Jih-Chu for that purpose.

Xu outlined the zone's opening up and development and said that it requires the support of financial institutions. Xu expected that the bank will work with Pingtan on ways to strengthen cross-Straits cooperation.

Lee said that Pingtan has great development potential in finance and the number of Taiwan enterprises expanding business in Pingtan is on the rise. The chairperson added that the bank will work on ways to use Pingtan's preferential policies to develop cross-Straits financial businesses and better serve Taiwan enterprises.
