The Nanzhai Mountain scenic spot in the Pingtan Comprehensive Pilot Zone, Fujian province will be open to visitors for free on May 19, said Lin Xiong, staff member of a local tourism development company.

The step was taken to echo the provincial tourism bureau's call to celebrate the China Tourism Day, which falls on May 19 every year. The Nanzhai Mountain is among the 60 tourist sites in Fujian that will be open free to the public on that day.

The mountain is located in Beicuo town, south of Pingtan. Large granites decorate the low hills. Many of them are of unique shapes, including more than 40 pictographic rock scenic spots. Typical landscapes include Camel Rock, Mandarina Duck Handling Feathers, Leopard Hunting in Mountain and Turtle Rock, which make the mountain a rock zoo.

Among them, the eroding peaks at the Rock Forest Scenic Spot are the most famous, namely Crocodile Peak, Fairy Peak, Sheep Peak, Eagle Peak, Frog Peak and Turtle Valley. These peaks are suitable for climbing and taking photos.
