Pingtan No 1 Middle School to have new campus

The Pingtan No 1 Middle School started the main structure construction of its new campus on April 23, reported local news outlets ptnet.cn.

The project is slated to be completed in June or July next year, said Wang Qingfang, the project manager.

The new campus is expected to house better teaching facilities, help improve quality of education and give students better learning environment, according to its president, Wu Mingyun.

Taking up an area of 100,000 square meters, the campus plan to have 60 classes and enroll 3,000 students.

It will consist of three areas: teaching and office area, students' living area and sports area.

To create a better living environment, the campus will focus on greening work and will include a track field, a sports stadium and five basketball courts.

In addition, the school also wants to become a smart school. It is designed to have a multimedia center, a digital library, a campus broadcasting studio and the all-purpose campus card network management system.
