Some leading e-commerce and logistics companies see great potential in Pingtan Comprehensive Pilot Zone, and seek cooperation from the zone in cross-border e-commerce, according to ptnet.cn on April 16.

Over 10 entrepreneurs from Shanghai, Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Chongqing and other cities visited Pingtan on April 15, to learn about the zone's cross-border e-commerce sector.

The event was sponsored by the Pingtan New Silk Road Cross-border E-commerce Co, with an idea of attracting top logistics and e-commerce firms and advancing the zone's cross-border e-commerce.

The delegates toured the Aoqian High-Speed Passenger Terminal, where they gained a better understanding of Pingtan's customs clearance supervision and management as well as current situations of its e-commerce and logistics industries.

They also attended a meeting with local officials to know about the zone's preferential policies.

Pingtan has advantages in location close to Taiwan, favorable policies, and government support which are conducive to the development of cross-border e-commerce, said Wang Xianghuang, a staff member of the New Silk Road Co.

Wang expected more e-commerce and logistics companies will cooperate with Pingtan through this event.

Some delegates said that Pingtan's preferential policies and unique location appeal to them.
