Taiwan affairs office of Pingtan Comprehensive Pilot Zone has completed half of its goal of bringing in 50 companies from areas outside the Chinese mainland this year, according to ptnet.cn on April 12.

So far, 28 companies from Taiwan, Hong Kong, Macao and other areas have settled down in the zone, said Wang Jialong, director of the economy department of Taiwan affairs office.

Those new settlers work on various businesses, such as trade, creative culture and healthcare.

To reach its goal, the affairs office works with the Association for Taiwan Investment Enterprises in Pingtan, Taiwan Association of China Dream Promotion and the Pingtan Association of Taiwan. The office call on outside entrepreneurs with Pingtan origin to invest in their hometown, said Wang.

Wang vowed that they will do better to attract more companies to Pingtan, in order to contribute to the development of the zone.
