Zhang also mentioned its goal of enhancing economic, cultural and social cooperation with Taiwan so as to become a "Common Homeland" for people on both sides of the Taiwan Straits.

The secretary said that they have made advances in cross-Straits financial cooperation and will continue to do so. They will focus on attracting more financial professionals and promoting financial reform. Zhang hoped that the central bank will give them stronger support.

Chen Yulu gave a thumb-up to the zone's financial development and suggested that it should take advantage of its status as an experimental area for cross-Straits cooperation and learn from Taiwan's successful experience in financial business. The vice president also encouraged the zone to pursue financial innovation and vowed to give full support to its financial industry.
