Pingtan-Shanghai economic cooperation gets a boost

Pingtan Comprehensive Pilot Zone, Fujian province launched an investment fair in Shanghai on March 25, with the idea of increasing its exposure in the city and promoting economic cooperation between the two places.

Chen Dongrong, deputy director of Pingtan administrative committee attended the fair and introduced the zone's latest development and preferential policies to the participating entrepreneurs with Pingtan origin.

Chen said that Pingtan now boasts a reasonable industrial structure, well-developed infrastructure, improved business environment and more business opportunities. He invited the entrepreneurs to visit or invest in the zone.

In addition, the Pingtan Chamber of Commerce was also announced to open in Shanghai on that day.

The chamber aims to bring together Shanghai's entrepreneurs with Pingtan origin and serve as a bridge for economic exchanges as well as cooperation between the two sides.

It now has more than 100 member companies, whose business involves fuel supply, sea transport, aquatic food, real estate, logistics, mining, financial service, catering and entertainment.

Lin Shaoyan, president of the chamber said that they plan to take advantage of their collective strength to help the members develop better, so that they can contribute to the development of their hometown.
