The Taiwan Innovation Park in Pingtan, Fujian province hosted a meeting for local entrepreneurs to discuss ideas on tunnel engineering and seek cooperation on Feb 16, ptnet.cn reported.

The event was sponsored by the Yutongda Science and Technology Development Co and aimed to attract more entrepreneurs to expand or start businesses in Pingtan and promote the development of local tunnel industry.

Xu Weize, director of Pingtan administrative committee, attended the meeting and called on more tunnel companies to return to Pingtan. Xu said that tunnel industry is the county's traditional industry with strong advantages and local government will give full support to help it develop better. He encouraged the entrepreneurs to work together to build a tunnel industrial park in Pingtan and to forge an industrial chain covering fund raising, product display and mechanical equipment sale.

Lin Jiangling, deputy director of Pingtan administrative committee, also said that local government has rolled out a series of preferential policies for returned tunnel companies and expected that the entrepreneurs will take the opportunity to help with the development of their hometown.

Yutongda is one such returned company. Its president, Xu Wangfu, explained that the company's return was due to the county's great potential in the tunnel industry.

Upon cooperation with leading mechanical equipment suppliers, such as China SINOMACH Heavy Industry Corp, and financial institutions, like Bank of Communications Fujian branch, Yutongda set up an online tunnel industry trading site to help tunnel companies buy equipment and raise funds.
