Pingtan Comprehensive Pilot Zone, Fujian province gets more feathers in its cap, as its Shipaiyang scenic resort and Pingtan-Taiwan Duty-free Commodity Market have been approved as 3A national tourist sites on Dec 30, 2015. The announcement has been made by officials with local tourism bureau on Jan 8.

It is the first time that the zone got 3A-level scenic spots, and it is expected that the recognition will contribute to its goal of becoming an international tourist destination, said the officials.

To further increase the influence of local tourism, those tourist sites will make efforts to seek higher rankings.
