Another patrol vessel has been put on duty by customs authorities in Pingtan, Fujian province, local news portal ptnet.cn reported on June 22.

It will be the second—after the first was launched last November – to support and improve sea management and crack down on smuggling, authorities said.

“Compared with the first one, the new patrol ship has a bigger displacement of nearly 30 tons, and with stronger cruising power. With a full tank, it can sail in a circle all around Pingtan, which is good for long marine patrols,” said Liu Jianzhong, a customs employee.
