Construction of a softball stadium has made significant progress in Pingtan, Fujian province, ptnet.cn reports.

About 260 workers are working around the clock to complete the project ahead of schedule originally set for sometime in July, according to a supervisor.

The stadium, costing roughly 86 million yuan ($14 million) and occupying an area of 8,975 square meters near the Pingtan No.1 Middle School in Lancheng district, will be used for the first time at the first National Youth Games, which will run from Oct 18 to 27 in Fuzhou, Fujian province, this year.

The three-story stadium will be composed of two fields, one for training and the other for matches, with a total of 5,030 seats.
