The Beauty Crown Haixia International Tourism Town is invested by the Guowei Fortune Investment Holding Co. It takes up an area of nearly one million square meters near the Tannan Bay in Aoqian district.

The project will feature a global gourmet court, a high-end sports zone, a marine entertainment zone, and an international shopping mall.

The first phase of the project costs about 6 billion yuan and will comprise a seven-star hotel, a cluster of five-star hotels, a performance and arts center as well as a large shopping complex.

The project will take advantages of Pingtan’s island location, actively develop cross-Straits tourism and make Tannan Bay a destination for tourism as well as business.

President Xi Jinping, in his inspection of Pingtan last year, mentioned building an international tourist island in Pingtan, a goal which was later formalized by a master plan for the Fujian Free Trade Zone.

Both the national and provincial tourism authorities endorsed the exploration of Pingtan’s tourism industry. The Beauty Crown project hopes to become a calling card for Pingtan, invigorate its tourism and ramp up its global appeal, said Zheng Weirong, deputy director of the Fujian Tourism Bureau.

Pingtan boasts a host of advantages in geography and policies, said Yao Xiongjun, general manager of Beauty Crown (Pingtan) , adding that the company will do its best to contribute to its full-scale development.
