A delegation of the Fujian Provincial Land Resources Department, headed by Director Ye Min, visited the Pingtan Comprehensive Pilot Zone (PCPZ) in Fujian province on March 10 to investigate its land use.

The authority in Pingtan has taken up a number of measures boosting intensive land use and has drawn up plans for development of rural lands, said Li Dejin, director of the PCPZ’s administrative committee, adding that Pingtan hopes provincial authorities can provide support for its land policies.

Ye replied by saying he hopes Pingtan can make innovations on land policies and explore a land use and administration model fit for its opening-up and development. The provincial land resources department will provide more specific guidance on Pingtan’s land use with better resources and an advanced work mechanism.

Another delegation comprised of officials from the National Energy Administration (NEA) also visited Pingtan later in the day to inspect its port construction.

After the inspection at the Jinjing Bay area, Jiang Bin, head of the NEA’s Energy Saving and Technology Equipment Department, said he was bullish about the future of ports in Pingtan, which boasts terrific beach resources.
