The authority of Jinjing Bay district of the Pingtan Comprehensive Pilot Zone in Fujian province announced on March 6 that it will focus on 75 key construction projects, 32 of which are new ones, in 2015.

Highlights of the new projects include a new port area pertaining to Jinjing Port for the purpose of port economy and trade as well as upgrading a wharf at Nianggong village that includes building a berth with a capacity of 3,000 tons and lengthening the frontage to 200 meters.

The port development will also lead to construction of a series of support facilities for logistics purposes, many of which will be planned and even built this year, including a large closed warehouse taking up 110,000 square meters, an open storage area of 70,000 sq m, a life and service zone of 18,000 sq m and a green area of 40,000 sq m.

The logistics base will have a max storage capacity of 180,000 tons and an annual throughput of 1 million tons with annual trade volume expected to reach 15 billion yuan ($2.4 billion), according to the port’s authority.
