Two lines of rainwater pipes, totaling a distance of 8,000 meters, are being paved under Cuiyuan South Road.

As of Jan 13, workers had laid 4,700 meters of pipes, or 58 percent of the volume. The rest is due for completion by the end of the month, said Wang Yanlei, a supervisor of the project.

Cuiyuan South Road, 3.7 km long and 40 meters wide, is a two-way, four-lane road. It will connect Wanbao Road with Haitan Ancient City, a large tourism complex, after completion.

The project will cut a lot of travel time from urban Pingtan to Haitan Ancient City and Tannan Bay.
