A Party official in Pingtan county, Fujian province, received a warning for hiding information on freeloaders on Jan 8.

Wang Changjin, Party Secretary of the administration body of the Sanshiliujiaohu Reservoir, made a false report on the number of freeloaders at the place to its superiors in December.

He claimed in the report that there was only one freeloader. But a disciplinary inspection team later found he had deliberately cut another two from his count.

Besides the warning, Wang was also deprived of his due year-end bonus. Some other employees at the institution also got punishments of different degrees.

On Dec 2, Pingtan launched a crackdown targeting freeloaders, meaning those who are registered government or public institution employees who never actually work at their posts.
