A delegation of the All China Federation of Trade Unions (ACFTU) paid a visit to the Pingtan Comprehensive Pilot Zone (PCPZ) on Nov 28 to investigate its development.

The delegates inspected the Pingtan Branch of TPK Holdings, which is the world’s largest touch panel maker. They also visited a customs checkpoint to learn about innovation in customs supervision and management in Pingtan.

Pingtan was designated by ACFTU as a demonstration zone competition for labor skills in 2012 in a bid to ramp up the construction momentum among workers. Some 200 agencies and 100,000 workers engaged in major engineering projects in Pingtan have taken part in the competition since.

Zhao Shihong, secretary of ACFTU’s secretariat, spoke highly of the labor competition in Pingtan, and said Pingtan would become a hot land for investment with its geographic advantages and a number of preferential policies.
