The Pingtan Chamber of Commerce in Beijing recently announced it would donate 2 million yuan ($323,000) to boost education in the Pingtan Comprehensive Pilot Zone (PCPZ) in Fujian province.

The money will be delivered in four batches over four years. The first 500,000 yuan will be used for a scientific museum at a local school and the upgrade of school facilities.

Zhou Qingsong, deputy director of PCPZ’s administrative committee, thanked the Chambers’ care and support for Pingtan, and said the scientific museum would become a solid foundation of Pingtan’s education cause.

The Chamber will continue to gather more Pingtan’s entrepreneurs to make more contributions to Pingtan’s education over the next four years, said You Hui, the Chamber’s president.
