Li Dejin, director of the administrative committee of the Pingtan Comprehensive Pilot Zone in Fujian province, paid visits to officials of various ministries in Beijing from Nov 20 to 22.

Li briefed the officials on Pingtan’s development situation and hoped to win more support from the ministries in future.

The Finance Ministry will make related policies based on Pingtan’s needs to boost its industrial development and project construction.

Officials with the secretariat of the General Office of the CPC Central Committee pledged that they will do a better job by collecting Pingtan’s development updates and report them to central authorities in a timely manner.

The National Development and Reform Commission said it will help coordinate and solve problems during Pingtan’s opening-up and exploitation, and will organize a second inter-ministerial meeting to discuss how to further push reforms in Pingtan.

The Commerce Ministry will support Pingtan’s free trade port plan, and make more innovations in the financial sector, trade exchanges and cross-Straits personnel exchanges, said Wang Shouwen, assistant minister.

The National Tourism Bureau is all for Pingtan’s blueprint of building an international tourism island, and will assist it in planning, policy making and advertising.
