A ceremony commemorating the group’s settlement in Pingtan was held at the Wanda Costal International, a local property development group, on Nov 19.

Based on agreements, Argyle will transform one of Wanda’s high-rises into a five-star resort hotel.

The Argyle Resort in Pingtan is the result of China-Australia friendship and the cooperation between the AHG and local government, said Julie-Ann Nicoles, deputy consul general of the Australian Trade Commission.

The hotel will benefit Pingtan and local residents, and enhance China-Australia communication and cooperation, she added.

Argyle and Wanda have joined hands to strive to establish the first Australian upscale hotel in Pingtan, which will strengthen Pingtan’s commercial atmosphere and brand, and further promote the internalization of Pingtan’s tourism industry, said Guan Lin, vice president of AHG China.

The Argyle Resort will be an oceanfront hotel situated at the intersection of Longfeng East Road and Huandao East Road, and close to the Longfengtou bathing beach. It will boast a variety of rooms including 180 with a good view of the sea. There will also be a full set of entertainment facilities such as a gym center, spa and card rooms.

“We hope the authorities in Pingtan can provide support to Argyle and we are targeting the start of the trial operation in July next year,” said Guan.

AHG is an upmarket exporter of Australian hotel and resort management services. It retained the title of being in the World’s Top 300 Hotels this year and saw its management assets exceed 20 billion yuan ($3.3 billion) in May.
