Chinese President Xi Jinping investigated the Pingtan branch of TPK Holding Co, a Taiwan-based leading touchscreen producer, during his inspection to Pingtan, Fujian province, on Nov 1.

"TPK is the first enterprise enjoying preferential policies that reduce costs and ease our burden," said Liu Mingfeng, deputy manager of the enterprise's general affairs department. "The value-added tax has been reduced by $25.13 million."

"President Xi is kind," said one staffer of TPK.

Xi talked about two Chinese dreams and affirmed Pingtan’s development. His investigation also strengthened the confidence of the entrepreneurs in Pingtan. TPK is expanding the scale of production, said Liu.

Pingtan will strengthen promotion and attract more Taiwan enterprises by building a Taiwan innovation park, Taiwan industrial park and cross-Straits logistics park.

Taiwan TPK Holding Co, the largest touch screen manufacturer, focuses on the production of 5.5 generation projection type capacitive touch sensors, which are supplied to the world’s biggest brands, including Apple, MIUI, Lenovo and HP. Due to the more favorable national policies and regional advantages, it set up TPK (Pingtan) in January 2013 with an investment of 3 billion yuan ($490 million).
