An inspection team from the Fujian Provincial Party Committee visited the Pingtan Comprehensive Pilot Zone on Oct 17 to investigate its development.

Wang Meixiang, leader of the team, talked with Taiwanese merchants at a duty-free market, which sells commodities from Taiwan, and urged local officials to make more effort to expand the market’s presence in Pingtan.

The market could promote more tourism programs to consolidate its competitiveness, said Wang.

She added that Pingtan could make better use of underground space for more engineering projects in the future.
