Jinjing Bay District, situated in the southeast of Pingtan and designated as a future business center, has 55 construction projects and a total investment of 16 billion yuan.

29 of the 55 projects are being built, ranging from new technology industries, infrastructure, civil engineering and support facilities. And local authorities are pushing to finish 6 of them by the end of this year, and kick off construction of another 11 projects.

The No.2 and 3 berths at the Jidiao Wharf, which is planned as a vital terminal for cargo transport, will soon be opened; and the No.4 and 5 berths are expected to become operational by the end of this year, sources close to the wharf said.

Six apartment buildings in a resettlement compound in the district are slated to be completed by the end of this year.

What’s more, construction of a land reclamation project at Anhai’ao area, a sewage treatment plant, and a waste incineration power plant will be accelerated as well, said authorities.
