As the Guest City of Honor for the Fair, Pingtan has a 350-square-meter booth to promote its tourism resources and projects.

Many tourism enterprises and tourist destinations in Pingtan, including Taiwan Commodity Market, Haitan Tourism Resort, Haitan Ancient Town, Qilin Hotel and Cross-Straits Holiday Hotel sent delegates to the Fair.

Zhou Qingsong, deputy director of PCPZ’s administrative committee and leader of the Pingtan delegation, shed light on Pingtan’s environment and favorable policies for the development of the tourism industry at a symposium of the Fair on Sept 8.

He elaborated on three major tourism projects, namely a tourism complex at Tannan Bay, an ocean park as well as cultural center on the modern horse industry, which is expected to attract investments totaling 25 billion yuan ($4.1 billion).

In its latest efforts to lure more tourism from Taiwan, Pingtan recently announced that it will reward 100 yuan for every Taiwanese who participates in cycling tours of Pingtan before Oct 30. The participants will also get the privilege of visiting all of Pingtan’s tourist resorts for free.
