After more than a year of investigation and evaluation, Delta Electronics Inc, an electronics tycoon from Taiwan, has decided to establish a subsidiary in the Pingtan Comprehensive Pilot Zone (PCPZ) in Fujian province.

Pingtan’s low-carbon, smart development ideas are in line with Delta Electronics’ concepts, and the company is optimistic about Pingtan’s future, especially when it boasts a slew of favorable policies for enterprises, said You Wenren, general-manager of the Shanghai-based Delta-CIMIC Electronics Co Ltd, on July 1.

The Pingtan branch of Delta-CIMIC, which was set up in 2013 in an attempt to test the waters in the only pilot zone open to Taiwan on the Chinese mainland, will be upgraded to a subsidiary of Delta Electronics and assume an even bigger role, as it will be the headquarters of Delta Electronics in East China.

The business of the Pingtan subsidiary will cover industrial automation, power, smart life with focus on energy conservation, and environmental protection. It will also engage more actively in cooperating with the local government and enterprises, according to You.

“We hope to provide more assistance to Pingtan’s construction and boost its economic growth,” he said.
