A delegation from SK Group, the third-largest conglomerate in South Korea, visited the Pingtan Comprehensive Pilot Zone (PCPZ) on June 30 to investigate its development and seek collaboration opportunities.

Li Xinming, SK’s vice president for Greater China, said he hopes Pingtan and SK can find room for cooperation in new energy and smart city construction.

The team inspected some major industrial programs and learned about Pingtan’s development situation, favorable policies as well as special customs management methods.

Li spoke highly of Pingtan’s optimal air quality and its long-term development blueprint, with environmental protection and ecological efforts, saying it really stands out in that area.

He also suggested that Pingtan’s industrial distribution can learn from international advanced modes since it is still in its infancy. And SK will include Pingtan as part of its investment in Fujian province.
