Pingtan attracts investment at CIFIT

The Pingtan Comprehensive Pilot Zone expects to attract investment totaling as much as $1.75 billion at the 17th China International Fair for Investment and Trade in Xiamen city, Fujian province, on Sunday.

TPK Holding, the world's largest touch panel maker based in Taiwan, has signed deals worth $450 million with Pingtan to develop manufacturing of optical glass and a variety of touch products. It has opened a Pingtan branch with a registered capital of $150 million and is building three factories occupying an area of 200,000 square meters.

The Fujian Green Industrial Development Center and LGM World Group also expressed intentions to invest in Pingtan at the two-day fair.

The CIFIT takes place in September every year in Xiamen, China. Themed "Introducing FDI" and "Going Global," it focuses on nationality and internationality, investment negotiation and investment policy promotion, coordinated development of the national and regional economy, and economic and trade exchanges across the Taiwan Straits.

The CIFIT is currently China's only international investment promotion event aimed at facilitating bilateral investment.
