The Pingtan administrative committee and Pingtan Party working committee sent a joint letter of thanks to more than 1,000 households who had to relocate for a land expropriation project on Monday in Pingtan, Fujian province.

Since the launch of the project on April 17, 1,563 households living in 841 houses have showed their support for the project and have moved out.

The expropriated land is an important area for Pingtan's communication with Taiwan, and a platform to display the achievement Pingtan has made in its development, said the letter.

The two committees tipped their hats to all the relocatees who have made sacrifices on their part to contribute to Pingtan's further development, said the letter.

According to the Pingtan government's website, as of May 24, there were only 26 households who hadn't agreed to move.
